Research and Development Funding Matrix in the UK

What topics to research in the UK driven top to bottom and I have produced a matrix so as to understand how things work in the UK. Please refer to the pdf on this page.

UK Net Zero Strategy and the UK Nett Zero Innovation Board make top level policy decisions which feeds into the UK Net Zero Research Framework.

The UK Net Zero Research and Innovation Framework is a published document which spells out in detail what can be funded and if its not mentioned in the Framework it cannot be funded.

UKRI divides the budget into individual expenditure headings.
Innovate UK manages the research budgets set by UKRI
Catapults provide R&D facilities and roll out support.

An alternative technology not specifically named in the UK Net Zero Research and Innovation Framework will not be supported by the Catapults.
